Broken Hearts & Broken Bones
What is child abuse and how can you be their light in the dark?
What is child abuse?
Child abuse is a very serious issue that goes on in our world, and very few people know how common it is. Child abuse is described as the physical maltreatment or sexual molestation of a child. This means physical, mental, and sexual abuse of any child under the age of 18; as well as neglecting a child. As of 2022 the rate for child abuse in the US is 1 in 7 children. According to the CDC this number is likely an underestimate because many cases go unreported.
